Great dives with Phil and the whole gvd Team. Especially the Bull Sharks and Cenote dives are amazing. But the reefs at playa are also really beautiful.

I had a great experience with „Good Vibes Diving“ and my instructor and guide Phil. The staff of the dive center are super relaxed and friendly, and the atmosphere is very nice. From the booking to the whole execution of the trip, everything went well. Phil gave us a little briefing about the dive, depth and how to behave around the bull sharks. He took away any worries and fears and made us feel very safe for the dive. He also gave me more tips on how to equalize the pressure in my ears better, as I always had a problem with that. The experience of diving with bull sharks was incredible and the fear at the beginning was quickly gone. Also, Phil specially brought his GoPro from home to take good footage of and for us so we could share the experiences and have the memories on film as well. No additional money was charged for this. On the second dive at the reef, Phil was actively looking for and showing us different fish and corals. All in all, it was a very good experience, and I would go diving with Phil again anytime.

Phil was great, very good at pointing out macro species and best of all no rush to get out of the water, 65 min dive time, very unusual in this part of the world, friendly and thoughtfull, would highly recommend.
It was great diving with Good Vibes! They do have one of the better dive package/ rates in town.
Our dive guide Phil was very organized, always making sure we’re ok. His pre dive briefing was very detailed. And he definitely tries to give us the best possible vantage point to see the bull sharks as well as point out other interesting stuff to see in our second dive.
An amazing experience! The whole time I felt comfortable which made it so I could just enjoy the dive. Highly recommend, especially for anyone nervous about diving.

Philipp was a fantastic instructor! This was my first time diving and Phillipp made me feel very safe. He was knowledgeable and professional and very personable. He pointed out interesting fish and things on the reef and continued checking to see if I was doing alright. Definitely good vibes!! My highest recommendation!!
Phil is simply the best and I couldn’t have asked for a better instructor. He just gives you the feeling that your own pace is just right.
Me and my wife took our first dive/padi course with Phil.
First day we did the ground/basic training in the pool.
Second day we did 2 dives in the ocean.
The sea was quite rough and we both got a bit seasick.
Even if you don’t get seasick I would recommend to take pills for the boat.
The third day the sea was even more rough. And the harbour was closed when we were done with the dives.
My wife couldn’t handle the rough sea so she had been contacting Phil about it.
She had the chans to do her third day in a cenote instead witch I think was a good solution.
Now we are 2 certified padi divers.

Phil is an amazing instructor! I did my first two dives in the ocean but I got extremely seasick and I refused to go on to the boat on the third day, I was ready to quit the course but then Phil got creative and fixed so that I could do my last two dives in the cenote instead, which was awesome! Phil is very professional but also very funny and easy to hang out with. If you are Planing to take your PADI in Playa del Carmen I can highly recommend Phil and the Good Vibes Diving center 👌
I had my diving theory class and the first two open water divings with Phil, and I just loved it all thanks to his efforts. Frankly speaking at first I had my doubts about whether I could make it, given that I can’t swim, and had struggled with the pool trainings. Of course I did have my strugglings in the sea. But seeing how he could help me out no matter what, I felt calm enough to keep moving forward and through that I could improve little by little. He’s was super patient, and ‚bestowed‘ me a confidence that I can do this. (Very generous with compliments as well)
On top of this, he’s super talented, has a don of explaining every concept in the most concise and intuitive way, not to mention his perfect command of English.
The sea had high tides but because I was so sure that I was in the good hands, I felt safe enough. If you feel unsure about yourself, I absolutely recommend you to take a class with Phil. He’ll introduce you a whole new world out there 💫
다이빙 이론과 첫 두번의 다이빙을 필 선생님께 지도받았는데 정말 덕분에 다이빙을 사랑하게 된 거 같아요. 사실 처음엔 수영도 못하고 풀 세션 때 헤매서 이걸 할 수 있나 싶었습니다. 물론 바다에서도 헤매긴했지만 무슨 일이 생기든 선생님께서 해결해주실 수 있을 거란 확신이 생기니까 진정되어서 조금씩 움직이고 배워나갈 수 있었습니다. 필 선생님은 정말 참을성이 좋으셔서 자신감을 ‚내려주셨다’고해도 과언이 아닐 것 같아요. 칭찬에도 후하십니다!
그리고 모든 설명이 깔끔하고 귀에 쏙쏙 들어오는 건 물론 영어도 정말 흠 잡을 데 없이 잘하세요.
오늘 다이빙 때 파도가 조금 셌는데 그래도 선생님을 완전히 믿을 수 있다는 생각에 크게 무섭진 않았습니다. 저처럼 다이빙을 할 수 있을지 무섭고 불확실하다면 필 선생님 강습 강력추천합니다. 신세계를 보시게 될 겁니다!
Phil est un super instructeur ! Je ne suis pas bilingue en anglais et pourtant j’ai compris quasiment la totalité de ce qu’il nous a expliqué !! Il est hyper pédagogue ! On s’est senti en sécurité du début à la fin ! Merci pour tout !! 🤙

I have to say diving with Master Phil is really incredible and safe experience. I got very heavy trauma from my first snorkeling experience several years ago. I was super scared of water even when it’s raining. Actually I came to Playa del Carmen just for relax in beach with friends. I came to the diving club coz my friend wanted to dive with Shark. My friend persuaded me to overcome this trauma by taking professional training so I forced myself to join OW training. At beginning, Phili was not my instructor. I met him in the pool incidentally. I failed in sink water in mask and my instructor leave me alone for practicing. Phili came to encourage me and tols me that he is here,he will help me if I could be in danger. I really made it. Starting from there, I started to build up the confidence. Yesterday I finally passed the exams and finally become a OW diver😍😍😍I can’t believe I really made it. Thank you so much Phili. I will plan for AOW next year. Merry Christmas🎄
Philipp was my diving instructor in playa del Carmen and it couldn’t have been any better. I had been thinking about learning to scuba dive for quite a while and came to Playa del Carmen to do the open water course. Philipp is an awesome teacher, who will be motivating you by sharing his passion for diving. He is super fun, but also very professional at the same time. I always felt safe and well prepared for the dives and finished my course without any problems. Also the course was in a very small group, so he could always take care about questions and problems.
I can recommend him to the fullest!

I did my open water certificate at GVD with Phil being my instructor and what should I say! It couldn’t have been any better! Phil is a passionate, professional and patient teacher who made me feel safe at all times. I had a blast and diving in playa left me wanting more!

Diving with Phil was amazing. We were in Angelita and Carwash. Both are magnificent Cenotes. He and the gvd-team took care of everything on land. But of course I also felt very safe underwater. Unfortunately I had some ear issues at the end of the dive, but Phil helped me and waited until everything was fine again 🙂
So I can definitely recommend to go on a dive with him!
Doesn’t matter if you an experienced one with over 500 dives or somebody who was never been in the water before 🙂

I learned both open water and advanced diving here, but I was worried because I learned it in English. However, the instructor Phil was very kind and gave me detailed information, so there was no problem with the diving, and all the diving, including going to Cenotes and Cozumel, started in the sea and was amazing. Good diving recommended.
Phil turned me from an ignorant person about diving into the king of the underworld. He guided me calmly. He will forever be remembered as my master.
The diving with Phil was incredible. I was scared and worried before diving, but he reassured me not to worry. So I calmed down and truly enjoyed the dive.

Diving with Phil has been an awesome experience.
Despite trusting my skills as a freshly certified diver, he continuously had an eye on me and my equipment, fostering a sense of comfort, especially given the thrilling context of diving with sharks.

I really enjoyed diving with Phil last week in Cozumel . Everything was well planned and organized … the first dive was a reef dive and for the second dive Phil gave us the option of a ship wreck dive, which ended up being a memorable experience. Would love to join him again on future dives..
Phil is not only a very good childhood friend and kind person. He is also a very good instructor, we can not think about an easier explanation and better instruction.

Phillip was PHENOMENAL! I was nervous as it was my first time and I have a fear of the deep ocean. But he made me feel so safe and comfortable and SEEN. The training was easy and he made it fun and easy to digest. The overall vibe of the dive center was amazing. I felt like family when I entered and especially with Faku. Overall 10 out of 10
Phil has the most wonderful attitude and is very thorough as a diving instructor. I’m very grateful to have been taught by him at Good Vibes Diving in Playa del Carmen. As a guide underwater, I always feel safe with him and have the most fun time. Safety is always important but so is the experience and he covers both so well. He took the time to teach the course material in an easy to understand and fun way. From the written coursework, to learning skills in the pool – it was all fun! Solo travel for me felt a little scary, I was finding it hard to make the first steps to travel alone or navigate an unknown country. I had been following Philipp’s instagram page for a while and finally took the leap into trusting a trip I had seen on social media…. And what can I say…this was an adventure of a life time and has given me so much more confidence and made me a better diver! From the get go Philipp’s communication was great and in the lead up the itinerary was clear and well organized with transfers all booked. Being beautiful hosted by Philipp and Bailey for 10 days, I have learnt so much about diving and the ocean in such a calm and meaningful way. Being a new diver I felt safe and Philipp spent a lot of time sharing his knowledge with the group to make us more confident. My diving and buoyancy has improved so much over the 8 dives I completed. We did several dives with Phill in Mexico last april.
We are inexperienced divers and Phill took all the time for us and taught us new skills. Even though we were sometimes with a group. The Cenote dive was spectacular. I had a major panic attack there and didn’t dare anymore. Because his calm understanding and then step by step guidance I proudly completed the dive. In addition to good guidance, he is a really nice guy who also makes beautiful underwater videos and shares them with his divers. A big plus because it allows you to focus on yourself underwater.
We will definitely go diving with him again. Can’t wait!
I started following Philipp a while ago on instagram and saw he was in Indonesia at the same time as us so I contacted him to do a dive together in Nusa Lembongan.
Meeting Phil was like meeting an old friend. Even though we had never met before it felt comfortable from the start.
Philipp is super sweet and puts you at ease from the start. I had been sick for a few days and was feeling very bad on the boat but Phil made sure I was okay to dive and got me in the water as soon as possible to get rid of the sea sickness.
Once under water I felt great and we had an amazing dive with the mantas.
Afterwards we had a lovely lunch.
We loved it so much we are already thinking about doing a dive trip with Phil!

I had amazing scuba diving with Philipp, He is the best scuba diving instructor. Giving me so many heads up, tips, He is so helpfull with everything, make sure we are okay and makes the scuba diving more fun and wholesome while keeping his proffesionalism.
This is the first time, I felt like scuba diving with my best friend with him. I thought I am gonna be a burden since I am just an open water , and he is an Instructor but no he treat us regardly as equal.
I got a great gifts from him which are the close up shots of Manta Rays at Nusa Penida because of him❤. I would totally love to go scuba diving trip with him again, it’s so different the treatment with my fellow scuba friend and instructor. The positive vibes, warmness, and the infectious smile from him 😁.
As a Solo Traveller, scuba diving with him are the best experience I had so far. I would love to go book a trip again with him someday.
